GOP Sen. Susan Collins says she would accept a 3-week stopgap funding bill if necessary

Incoming Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins said she would accept a 3-week stopgap funding bill as long as it meant no shutdown.

“Yes, I mean, my number one goal is to prevent a government shutdown,” she told reporters.
“I don’t know what the plan is now,” she added, but said that they have to find a solution. “There’s gotta be, because we can’t have a government shutdown, and we’re getting dangerously close to that.”
